Lineup privacy policy
Effective September 24, 2026
Lineup is an internal staff-scheduling and operations tool published by BRC Cafe Inc and used by the managers and owners of the venues it operates. It is not a consumer product: the only people with accounts are staff whose accounts were created by their own management, and the only data in it is operational data about running those venues.
What the app collects
- Your account — a username and display name created for you by management. No email address or phone number is required to use the app. Management may store a phone number or an email address for you if you give them one; an email address, where present, is what a password reset would be sent to.
- Location, only at the moment of a duty check-off — when you complete certain duties, the app reads your location once to confirm the check-off happened at the venue. Location is never read in the background and is never tracked over time.
- Proof photos — photos you deliberately take in the app to document a completed duty or a closed follow-up. The app takes photos with the camera only; it never opens or reads your photo library.
- Operational records — attendance, schedules, checklists, nightly notes, and sales counts you enter as part of your job.
- A push-notification token — a device identifier used only to deliver notifications, if you turn them on: a shift reminder for floor staff; for the people who run the nights, reminders about work that is due and still undone, such as next week's schedule or tonight's sign-in sheet; and a daily summary for owners.
- Reminder records — the reminders written for you, whether each went out to your phone, and whether you opened it. If the work is still undone, the venue's supervisor or the owners are told who was reminded. The records are also counted, for each venue, to see whether reminders help the work get done — never to score or rank anyone.
- Sign-in records — the app's login service records sign-ins, password changes and sign-outs, and processes the network address a sign-in came from in order to rate-limit repeated failed attempts.
People who do not use the app
Management enters entertainers into Lineup as records — a name, availability, scheduled nights, attendance, and an optional contact phone number, which is used only so management can text scheduling questions and schedules from their own phone (Lineup itself never sends messages). Entertainers have no account, never install the app, and never sign in to it. The same is true of anything a manager writes about a member of staff, such as a coaching or discipline note. If you are recorded in Lineup this way, the venue that entered you is who to ask about your records, and the contact below can put you in touch with them.
What it is used for
Everything collected is used for one purpose: running the venues — building schedules, recording attendance, verifying nightly duties, and reminding the people who run the nights about work that is still due. Visibility inside the company is tiered: managers see only their own venue's current work; owners see the venues they operate.
What is never done with it
- Nothing is sold, and nothing is disclosed to third parties beyond the service providers that run the app's own infrastructure (described below), which process it solely on BRC Cafe Inc's behalf and are bound to protect it as this policy does.
- There is no advertising, no tracking across other companies' apps or websites, and no analytics profiling of individuals.
- Location is never collected in the background.
Where it lives
Data is stored with a managed database provider, with role-based access controls. A crash-reporting service may process technical device information to help fix bugs. Notifications are delivered through a push-delivery service and Apple's and Google's notification systems, which handle the device token and the notification in transit: its words (a venue's name, a role, dates, times and counts, and staff first names — never an entertainer's) and the identifiers the app needs to open the right screen.
How long it is kept
Operational records are business records, and they are kept. An account that never recorded any work can be erased outright. Once you have recorded work — an attendance entry, a completed duty, a nightly count — those records stay, because the venue's history has to remain true and other records point at them. What happens instead is that your account is deactivated: you can no longer sign in, and you appear under former staff. A proof photo attached to work that could not be sent stays on the phone as evidence until the office has been told about the failure, and is cleared from the phone within 30 days after that. What deleting an account does and does not do is set out in full on its own page.
Your choices
Notifications and location access are OS permissions you can decline or revoke at any time in your phone's settings; the app keeps working without them. Account questions, corrections, and deletion requests go through your management, or to the contact below.
